About Magellan
The Magellan Media Network lives to bring international media sources to the forefront. In a world inundated with news, it’s easy to lose track of where our info is coming from. It’s easy to forget that all news is subjective, even media giants like the BBC and the New York Times. But Magellan doesn’t try to give you an objective look. On the contrary, we embrace bias of all kinds. Perspective is part of what makes us human. So we read news from sources all over the world, from Iran to Korea, from South Africa to Siberia trying to find the most unique and insightful opinions on international affairs. We reject outright the idea the complex conflicts can be broken into sound bites and a few emotional photographs. We look for answers with action, for original ideas, for debate with more than two sides.
Our content comes from our readers and our volunteer editors: a Middle East historian, a development worker, an actor, and an English teacher in Korea. Even if you don’t have an article to read we encourage you to join the debate in our comments and polls.
